What is aggravated battery?

Aggravated battery is different from aggravated assault. One is simply the assault, and that means not touching. Battery means touching. If I take that same stick or that same handgun and I shoot it, or I strike you with that tool, then that is aggravated battery. There are different levels of that. In some cases, individuals are so hurt by the attack that you could actually be charged with attempted murder.
